It was over a year ago The Kent Group™ announced the start of the Love Your Horse Sweepstakes. This sweepstake offered equine lovers the opportunity to win monthly prizes, quarterly prizes, and a grand prize. We received over 10,000 entries for the sweepstake. Entries were collected at Clinton Anderson events, Kent Group trade shows, and Equine Foundation Series Seminars across our entire trade area. The Grand Prize for one lucky winner included The Kent Group Equine Prize Pack, WAHL Clipper and products, a Ritchie WaterMatic waterer, Clinton Anderson videos, and a day with Clinton Anderson.
The lucky grand prize winner was Teresa Haines from Amery, Wisconsin. Imagine her excitement when we called to notify her that she had won a day with Clinton Anderson. “I never win anything,” she said. She won’t be able to say that again. Teresa owns and boards her horse near her home in the country near Amery. Arrangements were made for Clinton to spend August 30th at the stable and work with Teresa and her horse. Teresa made arrangements for the stable to set up a round pen and arena area for the day. She invited several close friends and other horse owners to be there for the day. Julie Oldenburg, consumer products manager, handled details for lunch and refreshments.
Clinton spent time demonstrating his techniques when working with a horse. Teaching the horse to turn in the round pen and being unafraid of sudden movements were part of the training. Teresa soon learned that this day was a working day as well as a learning day. She needed to learn these training methods first hand by doing them. The experience and knowledge she gained by watching Clinton were put to the test.Teresa and all her guests were given an opportunity to ask questions and talk with Clinton Anderson. It was a real day with Clinton Anderson.
